Hebrews 4:12-13

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. ( ESV)

 

Hebrews 4:12-13, 1 Peter 1:22-25, 2 Timothy 3:16-17

  1. 12 Forxthe word of God is living andw active! (1 Peter 1:22-25)
    1. God’s word is Living- It’s at work all the time!
      1. Revealing truth to us.
      2. Allowing us to be transformed.
    2. God’s word is active- It’s able to energize us to live for the King of Kings!
      1. Truth with faith creates spiritual growth.
      2. Truth with power creates transformation.
    3. sharper than anyztwo-edged sword piercing to the division of soul and of spirit of joints and of marrow  (Eph. 6:17)
      1. God’s word is sharp- God’s word knows what we need and it doesn’t beat around the bush!
      2. God’s word reaches into the innermost parts of who we are.
      3. God’s word is piercing to the real issue not merely the symptoms of the issue.
      4. God’s word divides soul and spirit.
        1. God’s word knows the difference between the nature of man, and the Spiritual part of man.
      5. discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart no creature is hidden from his sight (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
        1. God’s word sees through the outside appearance.
        2. God’s word reveals all our thoughts good and evil.
        3. God’s word discerns intentions whether good or bad.
        4. God’s word sees straight to the heart of man.
      6. but all arecnaked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account (Matthew 4:1-11)
        1. Jesus is accountable to the word of God!
        2. God’s word brings accountability to all

Do we apply the word in our lives?

Do we realize that with knowledge comes accountability?
