1 John 2:2-6

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but aalso for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we bkeep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments cis a liar, and cthe truth is not in him, but whoeverdkeeps his word, in him truly ethe love of God is perfected. fBy this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he gabides in him hought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

The New Commandment

We walk the walk when we strive to be like CHRIST!

Confess your sins, own them whether they be by:

  • Honestly evaluate the spiritual condition of your heart. Christians often deceive themselves:
    • Lying about their fellowship. (1 John 1:6)
      • Making them critical of others, thinking they are hiding sin, unwilling to apply God’s word to their life?
    • Lying about their nature. (1 John 1:8)
      • The thought; “ I would never do that”
    • Lying about their actions. (1 John 1:10)
      • The attack; “Did you see what she/he did”
    • The Holy Spirit wants to reveal to you your true
      • (John 16:8-10)
    • Repent daily, keep short accounts with God.
      • Sanctification is the process of being set apart. (1 Cor. 1:26-31)
    • Investigate your life, who’s are you? Are you living for you or are you living for the Lord?  Put yourself on the shelf!!!
      • Be a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1)
      • Renew your mind. (Romans 12:2)
      • Walk in God’s will.(Romans 12:2, Luke 22:42)
    • Saturate yourself with scripture: (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
      • Spending time in the word daily.
      • Studying the word daily.
        • Memorizing the word.
        • Walking in the word.
        • Being transformed by the word.
        • Meditating on the word.
        • Testifying to the truth: (Romans 1:16-17)
          • Telling of the greatness of Christ.
          • Speaking the truth in Love.
          • Being perfected in love by the word of truth.
